"The hell we can't, you freak," Eddie countered, without even thinking, his heart lodged in the back of his throat as he crowded Jamie towards the door. There was a cackle, and Eddie turned to look at Jamie, his eyes wild, just as a rock came sailing through the window and the creature hurled itself into the kitchen after it.
It was small, barely four feet, but it carried a long, pointed spear, and its green lips were peeled back in a wicked grin, exposing long, dripping, needle-like teeth.
